Temporary Traveling Exhibit: Minnesota's 10 Most Endangered Historic Places. Among the buildings on the 2011 list is the Fergus Falls State Hospital. For more information on the exhibit visit the Preservations Alliance web site.

Open House on Monday, December 5 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Come and view the display before or after Myron Broschat's program on the Battle of the Buldge. Cider and cookies will be provided.

November 21 - Genealogical Society Monthly Meeting - 2 p.m. Meet 3rd Monday of each month.
December 5 - OPEN HOUSE - Otter Tail County's Military Past - at noon Myron Broschat presents on the Battle of the Bulge, largest and bloodiest battle of World War II. Free and Open to the Public.

February 6 - Otter Tail County's Military Past - Noon - Discussion: A Timeline of Operation Desert Storm. Free and Open to the Public.

Twenty years ago, the United States and a coalition of other nations took part in a military conflict known as Desert shield/Desert Storm. Where were you?

The Otter Tail County Historical Society invites the public to attend the monthly Military Roundtable on Monday, February 6 at noon at the Historical Museum in Fergus Falls. This month we discuss the events surrounding the first invasion of Iraq in 1991. A Department of Defense timeline of actions leading up to and during Desert Storm will be available. Some Desert Shield/Desert Storm veterans of Otter Tail County will also be featured. Join us as we reflect on the anniversary of the first major conflict after the Cold War.

February 7 - Meet Mark Twain! 6:00 p.m. One show only!

Join Fergus Falls Reads for its Huck Finn Kick-Off Event. Mark Twain scholar and retired NDSU professor, Bill Cosgrove, has portrayed Mark Twain more than 120 times in the almost 30 years he's been performing.

"This is a family-friendly presentation - both informative and humorous!"

This exhibit will explore the rich history of Minnesota's 3rd State Hospital, also known as the Regional Treatment Center, and it's impact on Fergus Falls and beyond.

February 17 - Friday Morning Coffee Klatch 10 a.m. Guests: Jeanne Cannady and Ginger Newborn Asleson. With nearly 60 years of experience between them, Jeanne and Ginger worked in a variety of nursing positions at the State Hospital

February 24 - Friday Morning Coffee Klatch 10 a.m. Guest: Ginny Paulson. A “jack of all trades” Ginny held a many different jobs while at the hospital. This gave her a unique perspective on how it all worked. Free and Open to the Public.
March 2 - Friday Morning Coffee Klatch 10 a.m. Guest: Neil Hermann. Past director of staff training and a member of the hospital’s executive committee, Neil Hermann will speak on the ever changing challenge of delivering human services. Free and Open to the Public.
March 5 - Otter Tail County's Military Past - Noon - Discussion: Mark Twain and the Civil War, part of the Fergus Falls Reads Huckleberry Finn project. Free and Open to the Public.
March 9 - Friday Morning Coffee Klatch 10 a.m. Guest: Friends of Kirkbride. Discover what motivated a group of community members to dedicate themselves to preserving this historic landmark.
March 16 - Friday Morning Coffee Klatch 10 a.m. Guest: Preservation Alliance of Minnesota. Erin Berg will speak on how historic buildings such as the State Hospital, can lead to economic development.
