The long awaited reprinting of Ruben L. Parson's Ever the Land: A Homestead Chronicle is now for sale in the gift shop. First published in 1978, Ever the Land traces the life of Pehr Pehrson, through his youth, marriage, parenthood, and tenant farming in his native Sweden; then his immigration to America in 1869, his homesteading in Otter Tail County's Clitherall Township, his development of his farmstead, and finally deeding the land to his only son, Nels, before his death in 1914.
The book is a deeply personal account of the joys and woes that defined the life of pioneer immigrants. The book retails for $16.95. Members get a 10% discount! Contact our Office Manager, LeAnn Neuleib, for more information. |
