The competition is open to anyone ages 8 and up. Winning essays will describe a woman from Otter Tail County, and show specifially how she came to live or work here. Writers will interview a woman they know, or research a woman who lived in Otter Tail County. Using the following criteria, the essay must express how, why, and when She Chose Otter Tail County.
Essays must be turned in to the Otter Tail County Historical Society on or before Friday, March 14, 2008
Winning writers, their “Real Woman,” families, friends, principals and teachers are invited to the Awards Ceremony on Saturday, April 6, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Otter Tail County Historical Society. The Awards Ceremony will include a program, readings by the winning writers and refreshments. ALL entries will receive a certificate via mail. The top three in each category will receive a trophy and other prizes during the Awards Ceremony.
RULES OF THE COMPETITION
1. Entries must be written in ink or typed.
2. All entries must be received at the museum on or before March 14, 2008.

4. Essays will be judged in four divisions: Elemetary (ages 8, 9, 10), Middle or Junior High (ages 11-13), Senior High (ages 14-18), Adult (19+).
